跟...一样 expresses that two things are the same in some quality.

A + 跟 + B + 一样 + (Adjective)
Explanation
跟...一样 states that A and B are equal in some respect. An adjective can optionally follow 一样 to specify what quality they share.
The negative form is 跟...不一样 (different from) or A 跟 B 不一样 + Adjective. 和 can replace 跟 with the same meaning.
